Yes! Whether you need a break or want to visit us after time in hospital, our short-stay residents receive the same high level of personalised care as everyone else. A minimum period of respite care would be three weeks to enable us to properly get to know you. Most of our respite residents return time after time.
Yes, we offer a limited number of day care places to provide companionship, activities, support and help our clients stay in their own homes for longer. Please get in touch to learn more or arrange a visit.
Unfortunately, we do not offer nursing care at Meadowcroft.
All of the rooms at Meadowcroft are ensuite, with your own toilet and washbasin. Our home has a variety of bathrooms and wet room facilities all with easy access from the lift in the main house.
We have two large lounge areas where events and activities take place, including a beautiful dining room and large garden area that is easy to access and in constant use throughout the spring & summer months.
We also have ample parking for visitors at the front of the home.
We have activities 6 days a week with a varied timetable, from Scrabble, to quizzes, singing and dancing, bingo, crafting and more! We have regular activity visits from our partners including vocalist Kim Bonsor who signings all our favourites classics from the 60’s! We have visits from Pet Pals- who bring along all our furry friends (even a donkey!) and the visits from the local nursery children who like to see how we are getting on.
Weekly outings are also arranged during the spring and summer months, from visiting the beach for chips, to trips to the garden centre – we can help keep you active with your hobbies!
Our home offers three meals a day, and snacks throughout the day from our dedicated snack and tea/coffee station! Residents can choose from a variety of breakfast options, lunch is normally our main meal with choices on each day and the menu varying from day to day and then an evening meal. All our meals are served in our beautiful dining room but we can also cater for residents who wish to eat in their rooms.
Religious and spiritual beliefs will be respected by our staff. If there are any religious groups you wish to attend, we will do our best to make sure this is accommodated.
We offer a communion service every month for Christian faiths, but all other faiths are welcome to follow their faith in the home and have people visit them here. Everyone is welcome to visit their place of worship, we may be able to provide a chaperon at an extra cost to enable a member of staff to accompany you. This will depend on notice and availability.
Pets are not allowed to live with us but they are allowed to visit you here – we also have regular visits from Pet Pals who come to see us with a wide range of animals for us to meet. .
You can, provided that Meadowcroft Care Home is within their catchment area, this is due to NHS restrictions. If your doctors' falls outside of the catchment area, we can support you to register with a local doctor’s surgery. We also have a dedicated GP who looks after all our residents.
We can also support you with optical and dental registrations needed, should you require them.
